God I can’t believe its only been like 5 years in our literal timeline and already the april/andy relationship is already unbearable to experience. 5 years ago we thought it was so adorable! He’s a) like 10 years older than her 2) he can’t do his own laundry??? He says “awesomesauce” after SHE tells him “i love you” for the first time? And ron tells her to “stop acting like a child” when she’sunderstandably upset? They have multiple children together
Has the culture matured to the point where we collectively understand the sadness of april/andy? Or must we must each come individually to the sadness as we eventually rewatch parks and rec for the third and final time?
Is the piercing clarity of the truth worth the loss of innocence?
What makes Oppa Homeless Style so perfect is the escalation of disbelief. We begin with the waitress giving a twenty to a homeless man, passing on the generosity of her customers. This is unusual, but not inherently implausible , and we may expect some corny but heartwarming conversation to follow.
Then it introduces the Dipshit, an impossible strawman who plants the first seeds of doubt. The reader now stops thinking about this as a narration of true events and begins to wonder how much the heroine has embroidered. A charitable person might suggest that somebody did indeed object to her donation, and she invented only the following argument. As the Dipshit’s statements become ever more exaggerated and absurd, however, we increasingly suspect that even that was the product of a fertile imagination.
Finally, the homeless man begins to dance, and we realize that he never existed, either. The narrator stretches our willingness to believe like silly putty: for some readers, it simply snaps, while for others, it drifts apart gently after dwindling to an almost invisible thread. Oppa Homeless Style is a study of the unreliable narrator and the fine line past which a story becomes too much to swallow. Each reader has a different experience of where that crucial point lies.
Ya’ll need to STOP buying your spices and rice from your big chain grocery stores they are over charging you!!! You go find your local Middle Eastern, Indian, or Mexican grocery store and buy from them it’s cheaper!!! Also those stores are often owned by immigrant families support them!!! And if your nervous about going into one because your not arab/assyrian/indian/mexican whatever no one cares!!! We don’t care if your come into our stores as long as you are respectful and dont act like an ass!!!!!!! Support immigrant businesses!!!! Support immigrant businesses!!! It’s a great way to learn and interact with other cultures!!!!!!!!
Some meats are cheaper at these businesses, too.. and often better quality!!
May 24th 2019 is a special day. It’s the first day same sex couple can register their marriage legally in Taiwan. I am very proud of my country, many people in Taiwan fought for decades to make this happen. <3 <3
