this unusually golden house sparrow is its strange color due to a genetic mutation called leucism. leucistic animals lack correct pigmentation, and can be varying shades paler than non-leucistic animals. leucistic birds have weaker feathers, and tend to be easy targets for predators, meaning that their rarity is increased since many of them don’t make it to adulthood.
This is ear elephant to everyone but me and my three coworkers in my understaffed office but this man who took off Two days this weekend to celebrate his birthday for four days (???) left an hour early today bc he stayed an hour late on friday and he was like “why don’t you leave early more? You work late too” and I’m like there’s too much work to do… I can’t…. amd he was like “oh that’s sweet of you :)”
