OMG, look at this adorable hummingbird clearwing (Hemaris thysbe)!
How is this squee-worthy beastie not a Pokemon??? I had it in the fridge yesterday so I could get a few good photographs, including the ones above. Today it was finally sunny out so I let it go outside. It sat on my fingers for a long time and then suddenly took off up into the sky like a little fighter jet.
@biomechabird It was only in the fridge for a few hours, til I could photograph it. I think it would last a few days in the fridge, depends on the species. Seems kind of cruel to keep them there that long though…

Black-billed whale
Berardius minimus sighted in Nemuro strait. Note the short beak, dark body colour, and sparse linear scars (photo taken by Hal Sato on 21 May 2009).
Beaked whales prefer deep ocean waters and have a long diving capacity, making them hard to see and inadequately understood. Researchers still donât know how mature
Berardius minimus female look like, as no female where found yet. The diet of this species is unclear. Â

these last few months, Grimâs been back & forth from the vet for irritation and hair loss on her ears. my vetâs theories included a food allergy/bacterial infection, so sheâs been on daily pills and her foodâs all been swapped out for hypoallergenic stuff
then today, Pangur and Grim went in for their annual checkup. Pangur was dealing with her anxiety by alternating between SCREAMING, and obsessively licking Grimâs head and ears, at which point the vet just raised her eyebrows and said âohâŠ..okay, thatâs the cause.â
tl;dr Iâve literally spent hundreds bc Pangur wonât stop getting freaky with her girlfriend
