lets take it a step further and acknowledge that generation discourse–

 which, for the most part is “haha old people are all racist and are ruining the planet” 

–not only ignores the realities of elderly and middle aged PoC, but also implies that white millenials and gen-z’rs arent/cant be racist when that simply isnt the case. 

also implies that boomers are the only ones with the wealth and power necessary to ruin the planet/oppress workers, which is also not the case, as more and more GenXers/millennials take the reins (Jeff Bezos, for instance, is either the very last of the boomers or the first of Generation X)

the corollary to that false assumption is that there aren’t any poor boomers, which is nonsense. poverty among the elderly is a terrible problem because that population has specific health and resource needs that are even harder to meet, and sometimes those needs go unaddressed entirely, while in other cases their families (also poor) have to sacrifice time and money they can’t afford to spare from their own needs

Omg i need an academic letter of reference for the grad school program I’m applying to so i was looking through my email and found the lwtter my favorite dance teacher wrote for me for the art therapy program i dropped out of 3 years ago… I don’t think i can read it its gonna make me so sad & I’m at work im gonna lose it… I don’t even know if i can reach out to her now I’m still ashamed of how quickly I dropped out of that program
