Thought provoking(?) comments from my 94 year old step grandpa who’s self isolating alone in his house in rural Pennsylvania
“If you vote for Trump, you won’t have to worry about any of that.” (Referring to my student loans for grad school. No idea what he meant by this)
“I have discovered… noises in my house. That i had never heard before.”
“More and more, the future is becoming something we never thought…”

Look at this giant trumpeter swan baby!
BABY????
I feel like people who haven’t been up close to swans don’t really understand how fuckoff big they are.
Your big-end male Canada geese max out at around 14lbs. Your big-end male swans weigh in at over 30. Trumpeter swan adults have completely black bills, black feet, and are a bit more white than this. They’re also one of the bigger species.
Anyway there’s a reason swans have killed people and geese haven’t. They’re really fucking big.

Found this handsome boy today at a plant nursery and I’m really proud of how this photo came out! I can’t say I know bugs as well as other animals, but I know I’ve seen this kind before. Thoughts? Found in Northeast Florida BTW.
Oh, I have thoughts. My thoughts are that I love this caterpillar. In addition to that, it’s a gulf fritillary. They look scary but the spines are actually soft to the touch. But the caterpillars themselves are poisonous so if you are a bird, do not eat one.
