Wait actually that’s nottrue i love romance when its in comics. I’ve read like 10 thousand gay romance comics. I think partly its bc they go really fast. My #1 pet peeve in fiction is when protagonists spend too long refusing the call to adventure and romance novels spend sooo long on this im like i KNOW you guys are going to end up together what’s the point of all this. But also i think art does a better job of showing what attraction looks and feels like to me? Bc I don’t see a lot of pictures in my head its like oh shes so pretty my heart is pounding blah blah ok i get it. But in an image its like OH… she’s THERE and she’s THERE and there’s this TENSION and the posture and the light and sometimes you see the characters objectively and sometimes you see them through the eyes of the character who is falling in love with them and nowwww i actually FEEL it. This doesn’t work with movies though bc i know they are actors who are just pretending
