the dovekie(alle alle) or little auk is a small member of the auk family that lives in the atlantic ocean and breeds on arctic islands. just half the size of the atlantic puffin, they are vulnerable to a range of predators, in particular when in large breeding colonies on land. despite their small size, they are skilled swimmers and mainly feed on crustaceans. x
