The building inspector had already recommended the little cottage for demolition, when Maija and Tapio thought that it would be a perfect retirement home. And, did they make it CUTE!
They actually found the chest in the corner of the kitchen/living/dining room, in the cottage.
They both wanted a big window in the room for lots of light. How pretty.
When guests come, the couple plans to stay in this room and give them their bedroom upstairs.
The main room is heated by a Swedish fire log fireplace (it only uses one log). During the renovation, the original fireplace behind the wall was demolished.
The former cold open loft was insulated and now houses the couple’s bedroom.
